2. If both are in dual sign, or one in moveable sign and other in fixed sign then, Madhya ayu is inferred.
3. If both are in fixed signs or one in moveable and other in dual sign then short life is inferred.

Now we need to look at the Dwadashamsha signs occupied by the Lords of ascendant and eighth house.

1. If both are occupied by moveable signs or one is fixed and the other is dual, then long life is inferred.
2. If both are occupied by dual signs or one by moveable sign and other by fixed sign, then medium life is inferred.
3. If both signs are occupied by fixed signs or one by dual and other by moveable sign, the short life is inferred.

An admixture of an above-stated combination of house, planets, auspiciousness, and inauspiciousness in a Kundali indicates the longevity of a native.

If the Lord of the ascendant and all benefic planets are in Quadrants or Trines, then the native has a long life. If they are in succedent houses then medium life is inferred and if they are in candent houses, then short life is inferred.

Similarly the Lord of the eighth house in candent houses gives long life, in succedant house gives medium life and in quadrants gives short life. One must check if the following are mutual friends, neutrals or enemies.

1. The Lord of the Moon sign and the Lord of the eighth sign occupied by Moon with each other
2. Lord of the first and Lord of the eighth with each other
3. Lord of the first and the Sun with each other

If they are mutual friends, then long life, if they are neutral, then medium life and if they are enemies then short life is inferred.
