Astrology Houses & Their Significance

Vedic Astrology- It is Hindu/Indian astrology and is called Vedic astrology since it is originated from the “Vedas”. It is the study of planets, moon, sun, stars according to one’s horoscope.  With the belief that their movements have an impact on our body and surroundings.

It includes 12 zodiac signs i.e., Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Libra, Virgo, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces. Along with that, there are five elements in nature. Earth (Bhumi), water (Jala), fire (Agni), air (Vaayu) and sky (Aakash) as mentioned in the Vedas.

The astrologers keep these elements into consideration while checking a person’s horoscope.

First house = first impressions—makes sense, right? It also covers other “firsts,” like new beginnings and leadership. It’s ruled by Aries.

First House, also known as ‘Lagna’ or ‘Ascendant’. It’s the house of self since it represents you and the way you look. Basically, your physical personality which includes physical appearance, temperament, nature, body frame, childhood, health, ego and their sense to self.

The mains parts depicted by the 1st house are the head and the face. It includes complexion, forehead, hair, brain, etc. As per the Vedic horoscope, if your 1st house is weak, you may face problems like headache, acne, scars, etc. This house corresponds with Aries energy

2nd House-

Where you’ll find the things you value on a practical level, like money (both your potential to make it and how you relate to it), and your general relationship to your stuff. It also covers self-esteem and your immediate physical environment. It’s ruled by Taurus.

The 2nd house in Vedic astrology is referred to as the house of possessions. It signifies Dhana or Income which includes the finances, the belongings that you own, possessions like car, furniture, investments etc. Using your possessions including your non-material things to the fullest also falls under the 2nd house’s realm. This house matches with Taurus.

An expert Vedic astrologer will tell you how the 2nd house rules body organs like tongue, teeth, eyes, mouth, nose and more. Also, the second house does not only limits the material holdings. It also comprises intangible things like one’s voice. For example, if a feminine planet like Venus sits in the second house of a person’s Kundali, his/her voice would be very appealing and melodious.

3rd House-

Lots going on here: your attitude, intellect, and communication. (And communication includes talking, texting, emailing, Instagram Stories, etc.) Friends, siblings, and neighbors too. Also, sort of randomly: early education. It’s ruled by Gemini.

It rules the things you do every day (even granular stuff like brushing your teeth and
petting your pup)—your daily routine and your schedule. This is also where you can see your physical health and habits. It’s ruled by Virgo.

The 7th house in vedic astrology (descendent) sits directly across from the first house (Ascendant). This house is also known as Yuvati Bhava. It’s the house of your spouse/partner. It is also the house of all kinds of partnerships including business partnership and also deals with the darker side of your relationships, the partnerships you form. Planets moving through the Seventh House help you close deals, securing the bonds by signing contracts and making things official.

As this house is ruled by the Libra sign, the planet Venus is the natural significator of this house that also signifies love, romance, and sexuality.

It governs various body parts including Kidneys, ovaries and the lower half of the back.

8th House-

Another one with A Lot going on: bigger money stuff like inheritances, taxes, and debt. Fun! Also, completely unrelated, orgasms. And how you feel about death. And birth too! Casual. It’s ruled by Scorpio.

8th house in Vedic astrology, also known as Randhra Bhava, rules over death, longevity and sudden events like Lottery. It is also related to wealth. Sudden losses, gains, the share of properties fall under the 8th house realm. This house is also the house of mysteries and transformations. It can bring depression, chronic illness, miseries, lack of mental peace, imprisonment etc to the person affected. However, on a positive note, our Vedic astrologer claim that the native of the 8th house is ought to have strong intuitive skills and such people can also master the fields of psychology, astrology, mathematics, and paranormal activities. Several various body parts governed by this sign include pelvic bones and external sexual organs.

10th house, also known as Karma Bhava, deals with the kind of work you do, the profession you are in, your prestige, your reputation, etc. your area of occupation is defined by the planetary positions in this house. this house corresponds with the Capricorn energy and ruled by Saturn. if Saturn is in harmony with other planets in your natal chart, this planet can become the most powerful ally.

12th House-

PSA: So much of the stuff that gets caught in your blind spots stems from this house, which governs mental and spiritual health and your earliest developmental experiences. It’s also all about the imagination and the arts as well as the concept of endings. It’s ruled by Pisces.

Being the last house, the 12th house in Vedic astrology represents the ending of your life cycle and the beginning of your spiritual journeys. it is also called the house of unconscious, self- undoing, and imprisonment. Why 108 is So important for Hindus | How the Number 108 Binds Us to the Universe | What’s So Sacred About the Number 108?

Why 108 is So important for Hindus | How the Number 108 Binds Us to the Universe | What’s So Sacred About the Number 108?

There are 108 mala on a string

Traditionally, mala—garlands of prayer beads—come as a string of 108 beads (plus one for the “guru bead,” around which the other 108 beads turn like the planets around the sun), notes Rae. A mala is used for counting as you repeat a mantra—much like the Catholic rosary.

Mathematicians and 108

Rae notes that renowned mathematicians of Vedic culture viewed 108 as a number of the wholeness of existence. This number also connects the Sun, Moon, and Earth: The average distance of the Sun and the Moon to Earth is 108 times their respective diameters. Such phenomena have given rise to many examples of ritual significance.

108 and the Sanskrit Alphabet

The Sanskrit alphabet is also part of why this number is so significant in yoga. The sanskrit alphabet is comprised of 54 letters. Each letter in the alphabet has both a masculine (Shiva) and feminine (Shakti) energy. 54 multiplied by these two energies is 108.

108 in mystical traditions and numerology

Numbers can be seen as messengers. When the number 108 appears in our life it may mean that we are about to attain a long-desired goal or achievement. The number 108 consists of the individual numbers 1, 0 and 8. The number 1 represents authority and leadership. It also represents new beginnings, taking initiative, and embarking on a new path of progress.

The number 0 is a mysterious one in that it represents both nothingness and eternity, but when combined with other numbers it will amplify the vibrational influence of the other numbers.

The number 8 is related to power and influence, abundance and achievement and the power to manifest desired outcomes. When this vibration becomes dominant in our lives we can expect to wield a great amount of influence in the chosen area of interest or in our professional lives.

During a puja, have you ever chanted a mantra for ten minutes or 25 times? Probably not! You may recall being told to recite it 108 times. Many Hindus have some form of 108 in their passwords, in their mobile numbers and license plates. Companies have made great marketing plans and logos with 108. But why is 108 viewed as holy? The answer, just like every other answer you will get from your parents, is that it lies in math and science. Vedic sages, pre-dating modern mathematical formulas, had it all figured out! According to Vedic cosmology, 108 is the basis of creation, represents the universe and all our existence. In Hinduism, we believe that outer cosmology should mirror our inner spirituality because our ultimate realization is that we are one in the same. It is said that the number 108 units represent the distance between our body and the God within us.

https://dai.ly/x8ekrcd

we have 108 marma points (vital points of life forces) in our body. So, this is why all mantras are chanted 108 times because each chant represents a journey from our material self towards our highest spiritual self. Each chant is believed to bring you 1 unit closer to our god within. 108 has significance in meditation as well. There are said to be 108 styles of meditation. In pranayama, the yogic practice of regulating breath, it is believed that if an individual can be so calm as to only breathe 108 times in one day, enlightenment will be achieved. Furthermore, an average person is said to breathe 21,600 times in a 24-hour period. Half, 10,800, are solar energy (breaths during day), and the other half is lunar energy (breaths during night). 100 multiplied with 108 equals 10,800. Also, in Kriya yoga, the maximum number of repetitions per session is said to be 108.

Hindus also believe our body contains seven chakras, starting at the top of the head and ending at the base of the spine. Each chakra is said to be an energy center within our body. The heart chakra, located at the exact center of the chest, is associated with transformation and love energy. It is believed that opening this energy center will lead to joy and compassion. The heart chakra is said to have 108 nadi (energy lines) that converge to form this energy center. Also, in Hinduism there are 108 Upanishads, the sacred texts of wisdom from ancient sages. Additionally, in the Sanskrit alphabet, there are 54 letters. Each letter has a feminine, or Shakti, and masculine, or Shiva, quality. 54 multiplied by 2 equals 108. These reasons explain why Hindus considered 108 holy. However, other religions recognize the mystical power of 108 as well. In Buddhism, for example, there are said to be 108 Earthly desires, 108 lies, and 108 delusions of the mind. This illustrates that the power of 108 has permeated into Eastern philosophies, but it does not stop there. In fact, 108 is not exclusive to religion, as it appears in our natural world.

108 can be noticed with the approximate relationships the Sun, Earth, and Moon. The diameter of the Sun is 108 times the diameter of Earth. The distance from the Sun to Earth is 108 times the diameter of the Sun. The distance from the Earth to Moon is 108 times the diameter of the moon. Lastly, there are 12 astrological houses and 9 planets. 12 multiplied by 9 equals 108. Additionally, 108 is associated with the River Ganga and Stonehenge. River Ganga spans a longitude of 12 degrees (79 to 91) and latitude of 9 degrees (22 to 31). 12 multiplied by 9 equals 108. Stonehenge’s diameter has been measured to be 108 feet in diameter. Lastly, 108 is a Harshad number. Such a number is an integer divisible by the sum of its digits. In Sanskrit, harsa means “joy” and da means “give”. Thus, Harshad translates to “joy giver.” No wonder the Cubs experienced the joyous moment of winning the World Series for the first time in 108 years!

What are the remedies for a malefic moon?

What are the remedies for a malefic moon?

Moon is considered as the most influential of all the Nine Planets in Vedic astrology. She is the ‘Queen of the Planets’ and controls the emotional quotient and mental abilities of a human. The planet is a significator or Mother and happiness. Moon is known to control the mind of a person and hence has super control over how a human will react emotionally in various situations.

In the event that Moon is afflicted in a natal chart or is placed in a malefic houses such as the Sixth House or the Eighth House or the Twelfth House or has a conjunction with a malefic planet such as Saturn, Rahu, or Ketu or is debilitated in Scorpio in any birth chart or natal chart or horoscope then the required planetary remedies have to be performed in order to strengthen the affected or weak Moon and reduce the bad effects of the Bad Moon in your life.

Effects of a weak or afflicted Moon

When the Queen of Planets, Moon is in malefic houses such as the Sixth House or the Eighth House or the Twelfth House or is badly placed or has conjunction with any malefic planets like Saturn, Rahu, or Ketu or is debilitated in Scorpio moon sign, then the native may have to face problems such as:

Weakened Mental Ability: Since Moon affects the mind power of the native hence when the Moon is weak or malefic in nature then the native becomes a victim of mental stress, depressions, and mental disorders of all types.

Issues Related to Mother: when the moon is weakly posited in the natal chart, it signifies a disturbed and weak relationship shared between native and his mother. Also since Moon is the karaka of Mother in Vedic astrology, malefic or Weak Moon also affects the health of the mother of the native.

Impact on Professional Life: a malefic or weak Moon has a negative effect on the professional life of the native especially those who are in the traveling industry, Sales and marketing, trading, manufacturing, and supply of white-colored products such as rice, dairy, sugar, cotton, etc.

Pessimistic Approach to Life: When a native starts doubting every decision (big or small in life) and has a negative approach to life, it is one of the indicators of having a weak or a malefic Moon in his or her chart.

Therefore, in order to get rid of these above-mentioned bad effects of a malefic Moon, there are few remedies for the Graha Shanti of Moon (Chandra) that can be done in order to improve the quality of life of the native in general.

Remedies for Chandra (Moon)

Graha Shanti of Chandra (Moon) with Chanting the Bija Mantra

In this, the native should chant the Chandra Bija Mantra 11000 times early in the morning after taking a bath on an empty stomach or before having any breakfast. The native needs to sit still on a mat on the ground and meditate with full devotion while chanting the Bija Mantra for 11000 times.

Bija Mantra

“Om Shraam Shreem Shroum Sah Chandramase Namah”

It is suggested that the native starts practicing the remedy on a Monday. Also, one must note that completing the ‘Mantra Jaap’ of 11000 times of the Bija Mantra Chant will take more than a day. Therefore, it is better suggested to complete as many times as you can in one seating. Continue following the process as suggested above for coming few days till the ‘Mantra Jaap’ count is accomplished.

Once the Mantra Jaap is complete, try and donate white clothes or white products such as rice, cotton or sugar, milk, etc to the poor and needy on a Monday.

Aushadhi Snana (Ayurvedic Bath) to Strengthen Moon

The native should take a bath with water infused with ayurvedic herbs such as Gaudoodh (Cow’s milk), Shankh Seep (Conch Shell), Gangajal (Holy Ganges Water), Shwet Chandan (White Sandalwood), Sphatik (Crystal Quartz), and Gau Mootra (Cow’s Urine) on Mondays. This will help him or her eradicates the negative effects of bad or weak or malefic Moon and will also help in keeping a positive aura around him or her.

Argha To Moon (Chandra)

The native should offer Argha to the Moon. In the evening, when the Moon is visible after sunset, the native should offer water to the moon at a neat and clean place, especially on Mondays. Make sure that if possible offer white-colored water to the Moon by adding little milk or white flowers to the water to be offered. Seek moon blessing in the form of peace of mind, prosperity, health and well being of your mother, family, and friends, prosperity, growth, and success in every aspects and dimension of life. The Chandra Argha is an ideal habit that could be easily made regular with a little effort, it could be practiced for the rest of the life and especially on Monday, it is beneficial as Monday is the day for the Planet Moon.

Besides the above-mentioned remedies, there are various other effective remedies that help strengthen the Moon of the native. They are:

  • The native should never go against the wishes of their mother. They should pay respect to her and never quarrel or argue with her. Seek her blessings every day.
  • Try not to indulge in the dairy business with a Weak or Malefic Moon in the natal chart. Such people should offer sweets to young children, especially girls.
  • Offer white flowers at cemeteries I order to strengthen weak Moon.
  • The native should keep pets and feed them with milk on a daily basis.
  • The native should avoid spending time alone as far as possible.
  • Practicing meditation every day calms down the mind hence helps to get rid of the bad effects of malefic or weak Moon.
  • Offer milk to Shivaling strengthens native’s Moon.
  • Avoid having birds as pets as caging them could worsen the impact. The best thing to do is to feed free birds in the garden.
  • Eat Coconut and Wear White Clothes
  • Doing Anulom-Vilom Breathing helps strengthen the weak or malefic Moon
  • Try and avoid drinking Milk on Mondays.

Effects Of Rahu And Moon Conjunction In Different Houses

Effects Of Rahu And Moon Conjunction In Different Houses

Indeed the conjunction of Rahu and Moon in any house forms the Grehan Yoga in your natal chart, and with the demonic planet Rahu dominating the conjunction, the native shows more traits of planet Rahu in its life.

Thus, a Rahu-Moon person becomes a door to attract impressionable possibilities.

Rahu and Moon Conjunction in 1st House
